Future Syria Party condemns Turkish drone strike that resulted in martyrdom of Sutoro official Brahim Mikhail

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In a statement, the Future Syria Party condemned the Turkish targeting of a vehicle in Dayrik (Al-Malikiyah), North and East Syria, which resulted in the martyrdom of Sutoro (Syriac Security Forces) official Ibrahim Mikhail and called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and put an end to Turkish crimes.

On Wednesday, a Turkish drone targeted a vehicle near Newroz Camp outside Dayrik carrying Mikhail and two commanders of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) while they were returning from the commemoration ceremony of former party Co-Chair Hevrin Khalaf who was brutally murdered by members of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) on 12 October 2022.

The statement indicated that the Turkish drone strikes come in the context of the ongoing war that Turkey is waging on northern Syria and these repeated encroachments and attacks violate all international covenants and human rights conventions.

The Future Syria Party called on all national and democratic forces in Syria to condemn the continuous Turkish assassinations and to take the necessary measures to close ranks and unite in the face of the greedy and murderers.

The statement called on the international community to put an end to the Turkish violations in Syria.
