Institutions of Bethnahrain National Council mourn martyr Aryo in North and East Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — People of Dayrik (Malikiyah) and institutions of Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo d,Bethnahrin, MUB) participated in the funeral service of the Sutoro martyr Ibrahim Bassam Mikhail.

The body of the martyr was carried across the streets of Dayrik towards the Sutoro center, where a minute of silence was observed, and prayers were recited.

After that, the MUB member Afram Ishak delivered a speech, in which he declared that Dayrik (Al-Malikiyah) is the source of heroes and martyrs.

“Dayrik keeps offering sacrifices and martyrs for freedom and dignity of peoples of the region against the Turkish attacks,” Ishak stated, stressing that peoples of the region will continue to defend their security, stability and freedom.

On behalf of the MUB and its institutions, Ishak offered condolences to the Sutoro martyr family and families of martyrs in North and East Syria.

Yesterday, the martyr body was taken to the headquarters of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Qabre Hewore (Qahtaniyah), then to Zalin (Qamishli).

Today, the funeral prayer was held for his soul in the Church of Blessed Virgin Mary in Nasira neighborhood in Hasakah, North and East Syria.

During the sermon, the priests talked about the martyr great sacrifices and his love for his land and people, indicating that martyr Aryo was loved by everyone and never hesitated to help anyone or defend his homeland.

After that, the martyr body was carried by the Sutoro Security Forces to the shrine of the Syriac-Assyrian martyrs.

A military parade by the Sutoro Forces and the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) was performed.

Then, SUP Co-Chair Sanharib Barsoum delivered a speech, in which he touched on the lofty meanings of martyrdom and sacrifice of martyr Aryo.

Sutoro spokesman Akkad Hanna also delivered a speech about the greatness of martyrdom, indicating that the security forces are ready to defend their homeland and people.

Co-Chair of the Syriac-Assyrian Martyrs’ Families Foundation Yacoub Daoud delivered a speech, in which he stressed that, “On this land, blood of the Syriacs mixed with blood of the Arabs and Kurds to embody their unity and joint destiny.”

At the end of the ceremony, the body of martyr Aryo was buried, alongside other martyrs, at the shrine of the Syriac-Assyrian Martyrs in Hasakah.
