Bethnahrin National Council calls on international community to stop the Turkish attacks against North and East Syria

BETH NAHRIN — The Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) issued a statement to the public opinion on the recent Turkish attacks against North and East Syria.

“The Turkish government of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) continue its ethnic cleansing against peoples of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria. On 19th November, the Turkish warplanes bombed several areas from Tal Rifaat to Dayrik in North and East Syria, citing the terrorist attack on civilians on Istanbul’s Istiklal Street. Meanwhile, Turkish air and ground bombardments that have been going on for months in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) escalated, “read the MUB statement.

The statement declared that the Turkish government faced a difficult situation both inside and outside Turkey after disclosing the attack that it had planned in Istanbul on 13rd November, that aimed to manipulate Turkish public opinion. Therefore, in order to cover up this conspiracy and change the agenda, it launched an attack based on its previous preparations for North and East Syria. In addition to preventing any developments in Iran and the region to suppress democratic ideas by mobilizing racist and chauvinistic circles in Turkey.

The MUB stated that the Turkish government is turning the region into a bloodbath to continue its hostile policies against the region’s peoples.

“The Turkish government bombs civilian and leads to their displacement. It commits crimes and supports jihadist groups for their own purposes, amid international silence,” read the statement, indicating that if Russia and the U.S. allowed repeating such attacks, a major catastrophe will take place.

“We have already suffered from the Islamic Turkish mentality that led to the 1915 Sayfo Genocide against the Christian peoples in Turkey,” the statement added.

The MUB called on the international community to stop the new bloody policies of the Turkish government.

It also called on the Syriac-Assyrian-Chaldean-Aramean people around the world to expose the Turkish genocidal policy for defending their presence in Syria.

“Our struggle for freedom against colonialists continues. The values and dignity of our people will be defended with great dedication. We are fighting together with other peoples against the Islamic State (ISIS), with the same determination of fighting the Turkish government for democratization and liberation of the Middle East. With resistance of the peoples of North and East Syria, these attacks will be thwarted, and victory will be for democracy supporters,” the MUB statement concluded.
