NOHADRA, Iraq — A Peaceful Coexistence Conference, under the slogan “Security, Reconstruction, and Development”, was organized in Nohadra (Duhok), Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), with the participation of Chaldean Archbishops Azad Shaba and Felix Chebbi.
The Chaldean Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Nohadra, Mor Azad Shaba, and the Chaldean Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Zakho, Mor Felix Shabbi, participated in the conference, which was organized by the General Directorate of Endowments and Religious Affairs of Iraq on Monday.
Attendance included the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the KRI Pshtiwan Sadiq, Governor of Nohadra Dr. Ali Tatar, Deputy Governor of Nohadra Shimon Shlimon, a number of Christian, Muslim, and Yezidi clerics, members of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament, and members of the general public.
The conference began with speeches delivered by the Minister, Governor, and Director General, followed by a dialogue session between religious clerics, including Yezidi cleric Khatari.
The dialogue included a presentation by each representative of the points of tolerance and peaceful coexistence in their religion. Archbishop Mor Azad Shaba stated that the Christian religion is based on peace and peaceful coexistence and that the message of the Lord Christ is peace, love, and brotherhood.
