A Demand for Action holds fundraising event for needy in Lebanon

SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden — On Friday, Swedish humanitarian organization A Demand for Action held its annual fundraising event to help the needy in Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia), especially in Lebanon as it continues to languish in a prolonged economic crisis.

A number of famous singers and poets in Sweden performed at the event, which was held in the hall of the Mor Ephrem Church in Södertälje, Sweden.

Entrepreneurs from the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community pledged to sponsor the event.

According to comments by head of the organization Nuri Seyhan Kino, the celebration was a success. It was announced that 600,000 Swedish Kronor had been collected to be sent to the needy in the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean–Maronite) people in Lebanon.

A Demand for Action annually holds such celebrations to collect donations for the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in Beth Nahrin.
