Syrian Federation of Human Rights Organization and Bodies calls for protecting and respecting human rights in Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In a working paper and statement, the Syrian Federation of Human Rights Organizations and Bodies called on all Syrian political parties and international bodies to work toward the improvement of human rights in Syria.
The statement, which was issued on the 74th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, focused on the immediate cessation of all forms of organized violence in Syria, release of all political detainees, the urgent need to work for the release of all abductees, and the immediate disclosure of the fate of the missing.
The statement demanded the formation of an independent, impartial, and transparent judicial investigative committee with the participation of representatives of the Syrian Federation for Human Rights Organizations and Bodies, as well as other human rights organizations in Syria.
The statement called for pressure to be put on Turkey and its proxy militias by international and local bodies to stop targeting civilians, places of worship, and private and public property.
It also called on Syrian civil and human rights organizations to document the Turkish crimes in a dossier that allows the follow-up and prosecution of all perpetrators.
