Chaldean Patriarch Mor Louis Sako presides over ordination of new priests

BAGHDAD ꟷ On Sunday, in the presence of religious and political figures and large gathering of Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian worshipers, three new priests, Father Jose Emmanuel Martines, Father Bashar Basil Najeeb, and Father Aiden Elia Juju, were ordained in the Chaldean Catholic Church during a ceremony presided over by Patriarch of the Chaldean Church Mor Louis Raphael Sako.

Apostolic Nuncio to Iraq Matja Leskovar, Bishop Basilius Yaldo, the ambassadors of Spain, Italy, and Australia, a number of priests, nuns, and monks, and a large gathering of Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian believers took part in or observed the ordination.

During the ceremony, the Patriarch delivered a sermon in which he expressed his happiness at the ordination of the three new priests and gave them advice and instructions. He called on them to unite with the heart of Christ and be witnesses of His love, forgiveness, and salvation.

He concluded by thanking everyone who contributed to the training and development of the new priests and everyone who attended the ordination ceremony.

Following the ceremony, the Patriarch invited the newly ordained priests for lunch at the Baghdad Hotel.
