On fifth day of Operation Jazira Thunderbolt, more terrorists arrested in North and East Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — As counter-terrorism Operation Jazira Thunderbolt completes its fifth day, combined Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Internal Security Forces (ISF) forces arrested 14 Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists in the towns of Al-Hol and Tel Brak. Meanwhile, ISF units arrested 36 terrorists in the city of Zalin (Qamishli).
On Sunday, in the village of Samihan Gharbi and Ittah, in the western Tel Brak countryside, the forces arrested three suspected logistical suppliers of ISIS. Initial inspection and investigation operations are underway to determine the suspect’s identities.
In Al-Hol, hideouts and houses used to shelter ISIS cells were raided, leading to the arrest of 11 suspects accused of various crimes, including smuggling families of ISIS members out of Al-Hol Refugee Camp and providing them with logistical support.
The Operations Forces and Special Forces of the General Security Apparatus of the ISF carried out several raids in Zalin resulting in the arrest of 36 members of ISIS cells and seizure of weapons, ammunition, and other items of material use in terrorist operations.
