Syrian Democratic Forces deny Turkish claims of deaths among their fighters. Anti-terrorism Operation Jazira Thunderbolt continues unwavering in North and East Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA ꟷ Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) official spokesman Aram Hanna has denied Turkish claims of the martyrdom of 22 SDF fighters and stressed that Operation Jazira Thunderbolt continues unwavering. Several terrorists were arrested in the countryside of Al-Hol and Hasakah city who were in possession of weapons and forged documents.
Hanna said that the allegations of the Turkish Ministry of Defense about the martyrdom of 22 fighters of the SDF, allegedly happened between January 2-5, are fabricated and false. He also stated that Operation Jazira Thunderbolt, launched by the SDF with the aim of eradicating terrorism and destroying ISIS sleeper cells, in particular, is still ongoing and has entered its eighth day.
After combing the towns of Tal Hamis, Tal Brak and Al-Hol, the joint forces in the operation headed to the villages of the northeastern countryside of Lahul and the eastern countryside of the city of Hasakah in the vicinity of Jabal Kawkab, where the forces raided the hideouts of ISIS cells in the Al-Hol camp, and arrested eight terrorists working for the organization’s cells within the camp.
Hanna indicated that the forces participating in the operation also carried out a combing campaign in 23 villages and farms in the eastern countryside of Hasakah, where they raided terrorist hideouts and arrested two of them involved in criminal operations.
