Syriac Progressive Youth Union holds dialogue forum in Zalin, North and East Syria
ZALIN, North and East Syria — Under the slogan “Role and Importance of Syriac Youth in North and East Syria”, the Syriac Progressive Youth Union (SPYU) held a dialogue forum in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria.
The forum was attended by SPYU members from across North and East Syria.
The forum agenda began with the election of Bozan Barkal as Co-Chair of Youth and Sports Authority, Mariana Issa as SPYU Co-Chair, and Ibrahim Ishaq as Official of SPYU’s Dayrik (Al-Malikiyah) Branch.
The situation of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) youth and the difficulties they face was discussed with Education Official and former Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) spokesperson ria Kino Gabriel.
Solutions and recommendations for addressing highlighted issues were proposed and debated by the attendees.
A report outlining the work and activities of SPYU was then presented.
The dialogue forum was concluded with the reading of a final statement that included the most important outputs, including holding awareness workshops and dialogue seminars, as well as sports activities for the youth.
The Sutoro (Syriac Security Forces) secured the event.
