IRAQ: Syriac Ashur Youkhanna elected as member of Nohadra (Duhok) Provincial Council
NOHADRA, Iraq — On Wednesday, Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian engineer Ashur Youkhanna Zia Bi Tallo was elected to the Nohadra (Duhok) Provincial Council, which consists of 28 seats.
On 27 May 1969, Nohadra became a governorate. The Nohadra governorate consists of 7 districts and 24 sub-districts with an estimated population of about 1.5 million people. It is a multi-ethnic governorate that includes Chaldeans–Syriacs–Assyrians, Yezidis, Kurds, and Arabs.
