Delegation of Turkish academics studying Syriac heritage and language visits General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Art in Kurdistan Region of Iraq
ANKAWA, Iraq — On Sunday, a delegation of academics from Turkey specializing in Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian heritage and the Syriac language visited the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Art in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). One of the goals of the delegation’s visit is to support the culture of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people in Iraq, develop their language, and document their heritage.
According to the official media of the General Directorate, the delegation included Ferhad Demir, Faisal Paşaci, Yawsef Beğtas, and Nadia Vali.
The delegation came to see the activities and services provided by the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Art in the fields of Syriac language and heritage. They praised the achievements of the Directorate to date and wished it success in its continued work.
General Director Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna indicated that the doors of the General Directorate are always open. He stressed its readiness to cooperate with all specialists and academics in a way that contributes to strengthening the culture of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people, developing their language, and documenting their heritage.
