Churches hold joint prayers in Beth Zalin (Qamishli) for earthquake victims
BETH ZALIN (QAMISHLI), Syria – The various churches in Beth Zalin held an ecumenical church service Sunday evening at the Syriac Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary for the victims of the devastating earthquake.
The clergy and faithful present asked in their prayers for healing for the wounded, patience for the homeless, and consolation for all who lost family and loved ones.
The church service was attended by Syriac Orthodox Bishop of the Gozarto (Jazira) Region, Maurice Amsih, a number of priests, representatives of the various churches, and a large group of faithful.
The ecumenical prayer was an initiative of the youth committees of the various local parishes.
