Bethnahrin Women’s Union attends solidarity gathering in Göppingen in support of earthquake victims

GÖPPINGEN, Germany – On Tuesday, several women’s organizations held a solidarity gathering in the German city of Göppingen to show support for those affected by the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria. During the gathering the organizations held a moment of silence in commemoration of the dead and speeches inspired by this tragedy.

A delegation of the Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo dꞌNeshe dꞌBethnahrin, HNB) participated in the gathering. HNB official Tibelya Ahrun held a speech in which she stressed the importance of supporting the families that lost loved ones because of the devastating earthquake, as well as the injured and the homeless.

Ahrun spoke about the response and work of Syriac (Aramean-Assyrian-Chaldean) civil institutions and aid organizations helping in Turkey and Syria, and said that HNB will assist in any way possible to help aid coordination to transfer supplies without discrimination to those affected by the earthquake.

Donations were collected to be sent to those affected in the affected regions. The participating women’s organizations in the solidarity gathering called on the German people to support the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
