LIVE YOUR LANGUAGE: Picture book of International Mother Language Day in Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian schools in Iraq

IRAQ – As a tribute to the Syriac language, the children of Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian schools all over Iraq celebrated International World Language Day.

In Iraq, Chaldeans-Syriacs-Assyrians are recognized as Chaldeans-Assyrians in the 2005 constitution.

The Syriac language is an acknowledged language with an official state department, falling under the Ministry of Education and with local education departments in the various regions and governates. This Directorate of Syriac Study develops the curriculum in the Syriac language and sets standards.

Below are some great impressions of the festive honoring of the Syriac language at Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian schools in Iraq. Thanks to the Mardutha organization for the beautiful images.
