Syrian Democratic Forces arrest two Islamic State terrorists in Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria – Following a carefully conducted investigation, anti-terrorist units of the Syrian Democratic Forces arrested two members of the terrorist organization Islamic State in Raqqa.
The arrests took place during two separate operations, one in Raqqa, the former capital of the Islamic Caliphate, and one in the village of Al-Salhabiya to the west of the city.
The operations were conducted with the support of international coalition forces.
A security cordon was set up around the terrorists’ urban and underground hideouts. According to the SDF, the two detained terrorists provided other Islamic State cells with intelligence and cooperated with them in carrying out terrorist operations.
The arrests by Syrian Democratic Forces and the international coalition fall within the framework of eliminating terrorism in Syria.
