The Democratic Autonomous Administration congratulates all the peoples of North and East Syria on the occasion of International Mother Language Day

BETH ZALIN (QAMISHLI) – The Education Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria congratulated all the peoples of the world and esspecially the components of North and East Syria, on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, which is celebrated every year on February 21.

The congratulations were published on the DAA’s official page and written in its three official languages, Syriac, Arabic and Kurdish.

In its congratulations, the Education Authority emphasized to all educational institutions in North and East Syria the importance of promoting the mother tongue of the peoples of the region, based on its belief in community cohesion, coexistence and promotion of cultural diversity.

The Syriac language is one of the official languages of North and East Syria. The recognized Olaf taw Association is responsible for developing the Syriac curriculum for the schools in the region. The aim of the Syriac people is for the Syriac language to become a recognized language throughout all of Syria, of which the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is part.
