BETH ZALIN, Syria — On 24 February, unknown persons vandalized the Sayfo Genocide Memorial in Beth Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria.

The Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) of North and East Syria immediately launched an investigation into the crime, which it said sought to undermine the coexistence of peoples by targeting one of the important symbols of tolerance and remembrance in the city.

After several days of investigations and inquiry, the Sutoro announced on Wednesday the arrests of the vandals.

The Sutoro reported that the perpetrators were minors and they are still being investigated by the concerned authorities.
