Women’s Council of Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon celebrates Mother’s Day

BEIRUT — On Mother’s Day, which falls on 21st March, Women’s Council of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Lebanon held an event, at the party’s headquarters in Sed el-Baouchrieh in Beirut.

The event was attended by members of the Council and the USUP, as well as Syriac mothers from the Sahel al-Matn region.

USUP Deputy Vice-President researcher Laila Latti delivered a speech, in which she touched on the history of celebrating Mother’s Day and symbolism of this occasion.

Then, the General Coordinator of the Women’s Council Huda Lahoud delivered a speech, in which she spoke about the importance of the occasion. Lahoud stressed the pioneering role of mothers in society even amid such dire circumstances, indicating that women raise generations and ingrain goodness and struggle in their hearts.

During the speeches, congratulations were extended to mothers of martyrs, captives and fighters, and every woman who struggles to preserve her family and is active in society. The They also commended mothers’ role in struggle, calling on them to engage in partisan work and play a leading role in society at all levels.

At the end of the event, cake and gifts were distributed to the attendees.
