Autonomous Administration and political parties in North and East Syria congratulate Syriac people on Akitu 6773

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On the Babylonian Syriac-Assyrian New Year, Akitu 6773, the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES) extended its warmest congratulations to the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in Syria in general and North and East Syria in particular.

In a congratulatory telegram, AANES wished that stability and security would prevail in the regions of North and East Syria on this historical and ancient occasion of Akitu.

AANES officials also wished for all the people of the region to enjoy Akitu with love and peace, keeping united against all forms of discrimination and racism to build a democratic, pluralistic, and decentralized Syria.

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) also extended Akitu congratulations to the Syriac people.

The SDC noted that Akitu embodies the depth of the region’s civilization and diversity, and is considered part of the global cultural heritage.

The SDC wished that the coming holidays would bring stability, peace and prosperity.

The political parties of North and East Syria, including the Democratic Green Party, the Kurdish Left Party in Syria, and the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria, offered Akitu congratulations, wishing that peace and security would prevail in Syria and the region.
