Delegations from Beth Nahrain National Council and Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party visit Syriac Union Party to celebrate Easter and discuss cooperation

HASAKAH and ZALIN, Syria — A delegation from the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria, including members of the party’s political bureau Ahmed Suleiman and Hassan Janko and member of the party’s Central Committee Rifai Saleh, visited the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, on Monday to offer congratulations and blessings on the occasion of Easter and to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two parties.

They were welcomed by the co-presidency of the Syriac Union Party in Syria, Nazira Goreya and Sanhrib Barsom, as well as Rubel Baho, a member of the party’s executive body, and Gabriel Chamoun, a member of the party’s council.

The two sides discussed their joint relations, methods of cooperation, their most prominent work within their party platforms, as well as their aspirations and visions for the future.

Another delegation from the institutions of the Beth Nahrain National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) in Hasakah visited the SUP, several other organizations, and Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) families in Tel Tamr to offer congratulations and blessings on the occasion of Easter, according to the Western calendar. The delegation visited the headquarters of the Assyrian Democratic Party and the headquarters of the Nattoreh Forces.

During the visits, they discussed the most prominent challenges facing the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people in Tel Tamr and the villages of the Khabur River Valley. They discussed how to solve the problems faced by the community, as well as methods of cooperation between the parties of our people for the benefit of the entire region.

The Beth Nahrain National Council’s delegation also visited some institutions and families in Zalin to offer Eid greetings. During the visits, they discussed the work that their institutions are doing for the benefit of the entire region.
