Co-Chair of AANES General Council Siham Quryo: Syrian crisis can only be solved through national solution, not foreign interference 

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Last week, official of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced plans to redouble efforts to secure a Syrian-Syrian solution to the countries crisis. Co-Chair of the AANES General Council Siham Quryo spoke to the SyriacPress our news desk about the AANES’s new initiative.

Quryo emphasized that the AANES’s recent proposal comes after 12 years of intractable conflict and disagreement among Syrian national actors despite numerous meetings, platforms, and conferences.

According to Quryo, regional and international interventions have failed to provide solutions to the ongoing crisis. Therefore, AANES believes that the solution must come from within Syria. She added that AANES DAA has urged the Syrian government and all Syrian parties to engage in dialogue.

Quryo also affirmed that AANES is willing to collaborate with all parties to achieve a solution that upholds the unity of the Syrian people and territory. She emphasized the importance of finding a permanent solution to the problem of terrorism in Syria.
