Institutions of Bethnahrin National Council participate in Giessen Conference on refugee work and support relations
GIESSEN, Germany — Israel Michael, an official of the Giessen Coordination, held an extensive meeting to discuss the arrival of refugees in the region. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB) Giesen Branch and the European Syriac Union (ESU).
Participants in the meeting discussed ways to facilitate refugee work and establish relations between the refugees and the local community. Many officials from institutions and villages with experience in managing refugee affairs were also invited to attend the meeting by Israel Joseph, another official of the Giessen Coordination.
Mariam Budak, HNB official in Giessen, and Turkan Ujar, ESU official in Giessen, also attended the event. The participants discussed the work of the coordination and the Syriac officials communicated with the refugees to get their input on how to improve coordination in the region.
