Syriac community in Switzerland hosts event to celebrate Labor Day and showcase cultural heritage

ZURICH, Switzerland — The Syriac (Aramean–Assyria–Chaldean) community in Switzerland, led by member organizations of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) including the Syriac Youth Union, the Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB), and the European Syriac Union (ESU), are hosting a three-day event featuring popular Syriac (Aramean–Assyria–Chaldean) food in Zurich, Switzerland, in celebration of International Labor Day.

The event provides an opportunity for the participating community members to express and share their identity and cultural heritage. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the event. The organizing institutions aim to showcase the struggles faced by Syriac (Aramean–Assyria–Chaldean) people both in their homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia) and in the diaspora.

All profits generated from the event will be allocated towards supporting the Syriac (Aramean–Assyria–Chaldean) community and its institutions.
