Syriac Cultural Delegation from Syria visits Kurdistan Region of Iraq to foster collaboration and cultural exchange
ANKAWA, Iraq — A delegation from the Syriac Cultural Association in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, recently visited Ankawa in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The delegation included member of the Syriac Cultural Association Estaifo Ishua Massoud and member of the Association’s Scouts Dani Hanna.
On Sunday, the delegation had a productive meeting with Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the KRI Kaldo Ramzi Oganna at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in Ankawa. The discussion primarily focused on the current state of Syriac culture and the challenges it faces. Oganna expressed the Directorate’s willingness to collaborate with all Syriac cultural and artistic institutions.
Continuing their visit, the delegation also had the opportunity to explore the Syriac Heritage Museum in Ankawa on Tuesday. Bernard Yousef, the Director of the Syriac Heritage and Museum, warmly welcomed the delegation and engaged in discussions regarding future collaborations for upcoming Syriac activities and events.
The visit served as a platform for fruitful exchanges and discussions aimed at strengthening Syriac cultural endeavors and fostering closer cooperation among cultural institutions across regions inhabited by the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian community.
