NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In comments to the SyriacPress news desk, Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Gozarto (Jazira) Region Vivian Bahho Oussi said that the AANES has commenced the wheat crop reception from farmers on 15 May. This was made possible through the opening of the Sabah al-Khair center in Hasakah and the Tel Alo center in Zalin (Qamishli).
Subsequently, on 28 May, Gozarto Region witnessed the inauguration of approximately 12 additional centers.
Regarding the pricing of wheat, Oussi disclosed that the AANES has set a purchase price of 43 cents per kilo. Clear instructions have been issued regarding harvesters and transportation. The AANES will exclusively purchase wheat, excluding barley.
Oussi emphasized the high demand for the wheat crop centers and expressed readiness to increase the number of centers as required. Each center includes a guide unit responsible for directing trucks to the designated unloading areas.
Furthermore, Oussi highlighted the active involvement of the Agricultural Community Development Company in opening the designated centers and initiating the wheat crop reception process. Farmers are directed to the guide units of the AANES Agriculture and Irrigation Authority to deliver their wheat to the silos.
“The distribution of centers is as follows: 4 centers in Dayrik, 3 centers in Qabre Hewore [Qahtaniyah], 3 centers in Amuda, 1 center in Zalin, and 2 centers in Hasakah,” concluded Oussi.
