Delegation of Bethnahrin Patriotic Union Party in Iraq visits Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party
ANKAWA, Iraq — On Thursday, a delegation of the Bethnahrin Patriotic Union Party in Iraq (Huyodo Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA) visited the headquarters of the Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party in Ankawa, Iraq.
The visiting delegation included the HBA head Youssef Yaqoub Matti and his deputy former MP Joseph Sliwa. They were received by the General Secretary of the Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party Romeo Hakkari, as well as the party leaders and cadres.
The two parties discussed several issues related to the situation of Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people in Iraq, as well as the latest developments on the political, social and economic levels. The current political process in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) were also topics of discussion.
The two sides also discussed the mechanisms to follow up the outputs and recommendations of the Brussels Conference in 2016, in which national parties of Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people participated, as well as representatives of the KRI, Iraq and many other countries.
The two parties stressed the importance of consolidating bilateral relations and developing ways of cooperation for serving the just, national and patriotic issue of Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people.
