Failed robbery attempt of Mor Jirjis Church in the Drejik village, North and East Syria
QABRE HEWORE, Syria — The Mor Jirjis Church in the Drejik village in the countryside of Qabre Hewore (Qahtaniyah), North and East Syria was subjected to a failed robbery attempt.
After a robbery report was received by the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) in Qabre Hewore (Qahtaniyah), the Sutoro went to the location.
After joint investigations with the Anti-Crime Office, it became clear that a group of thieves tried to rob the church in the evening, but they were unable to enter.
According to the Sutoro, the thieves vandalized items and furniture of four rooms belonging to the church, along with an external kitchen, after a failed attempt to enter the church.
The Sutoro condemned the attack and pledged to reveal the perpetrators.
