Youth of the Bethnahrin National Council institutions commemorate the 1915 Sayfo Genocide
ZALIN, Syria — On the 108th anniversary of the Sayfo Genocide, the Suroyo TV held a symposium, in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria.
The symposium hosted Syriac youth from all institutions of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB).
The youth spoke about the Sayfo Genocide that the Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people were subjected to in 1915, and the importance of conveying this issue to future generations. The youth role in restoring the right and Sayfo recognition, as well as the importance of national unity in this issue were also touched on.
The symposium was concluded with the attendees, the Syriac youth and the Suroyo TV team heading towards the Sayfo Gneocide Memorial in Zalin (Qamishli) to light candles, in remembrance of the Sayfo martyrs.
