Syriac Union Party and Democratic Conservative Party delegation visits civil administration in Raqqa, express support for political engagement and crisis resolution

RAQQA, Syria — A delegation comprising representatives from the Syriac Union Party (SUP) and the Conservative Party paid a visit to the Executive and General Councils of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Raqqa on Tuesday.

Official AANES media outlets announced the visit, highlighting the presence of SUP Co-Chairs Sanharib Barsom and Nazira Goreya, who congratulated Hussein Othman, Co-Chair of the Executive Council, on assuming his new responsibilities.

During their visit to the General Council, the visiting delegations engaged in discussions concerning the region’s political developments and identified obstacles facing the AANES. The purpose of these discussions was to devise effective strategies and enhance the involvement of political parties in North and East Syria.

The delegation expressed their unwavering support for the AANES, which they said is aiming to contribute to the resolution of the Syrian crisis through promoting coexistence and fostering brotherhood among the diverse ethnic and religious groups of the region.

When questioned by our news desk, Sanharib Barsom, SUP Co-Chair, stated that the primary objective of the visit was to extend congratulations to Hussein Othman on his new role. “We wished success to him and all those working in the AANES,” he added. Barsoum also mentioned that, as political parties, they engaged in comprehensive discussions with the members of the AANES councils, addressing various issues of concern to the people and exploring suitable solutions.
