Bethnahrin Patriotic Union in Baghdede, Iraq, recalls founding of Bethnahrin National Council

BAGHDEDE, Iraq — On the 23rd anniversary of founding of the Bethnahrain National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB), the Baghdede Local Committee of the Bethnahrin Patriotic Union (Huyodo Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA) organized an evening to mark the organization’s achievements.

The evening began with a minute of silence for MUB martyrs, martyrs of Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people, and martyrs of Iraq.

During the evening, Local Committee Official Samer Khalid Shamoun delivered a welcome speech to the attendees, which included party officials and notable members of the public from Baghdede and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

HBA Head Youssef Yaqoub Matti delivered a speech in which he explained the MUB’s goals and work, as well as the achievements of the MUB since its founding 23 years.

A documentary on the work of the MUB and its institutions was also screened.
