Suroyo TV celebrates 19th Anniversary: Milestone in broadcasting history
SÖDERTÄLJE , Sweden — Nineteen years ago, on 5 July, the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people took a momentous step by establishing their own satellite channel, Suroyo TV.
The launch of Suroyo TV on that historic day in 2005 marked a new chapter in the history of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people. It became a platform dedicated to conveying their voices to the world and sharing their visions, aspirations, and cultural heritage both within and beyond their homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia). Throughout the years, Suroyo TV has presented a wide array of programs, segments, and content, fostering an approach that has become a source of inspiration and knowledge for many.
The station has been instrumental in discussing the history, goals, and national and political aspirations of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people. It has served as an educational platform, enlightening viewers about their heritage and shedding light on the issues that matter most to them. As the channel evolves, it continues to refine its approach, programs, and actions to better serve the community’s needs.
On the occasion of its 19th anniversary, a special episode was organized from the Suroyo TV studio in Södertälje, Sweden, bringing together broadcasters, program presenters, and employees of Suroyo TV. Esteemed journalists from TV centers across the Middle East and Europe participated in dialogues, sharing their experiences and discussing the importance of this milestone. The event also focused on planning future programs and the development of various aspects of the channel.
During the discussions, preparations for the upcoming annual celebration organized by Suroyo TV were revealed. This year, the celebration will take place in Gronau, Germany, at the end of the year. Excitingly, it was announced that the sale of concert tickets for the event will commence today, adding to the anticipation and enthusiasm surrounding this grand occasion.
As we commemorate the nineteenth anniversary of Suroyo TV, we recognize the significant role it has played in shaping the community’s identity, connecting them with their roots, and empowering them to share their stories with the world. The channel has not only provided entertainment but also served as a beacon of knowledge, fostering a sense of unity and pride among the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.
We at SyriacPress extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire Suroyo TV team, whose dedication and hard work have contributed to the success and longevity of the channel. We look forward to witnessing the continued growth and development of Suroyo TV as it remains steadfast in its mission to serve the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community and celebrate their rich heritage for many more years to come.
