Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria calls for Coordinating Committee to address Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon
BEIRUT — The representative of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Lebanon Abdel Salam Ahmed recently met with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib to discuss pressing issues regarding Syrian refugees in Lebanon. During the meeting, Ahmed emphasized the need for a coordinating committee to address the refugee issue, while also presenting AANES’s initiative to resolve the Syrian crisis.
As a part of the discussions, Ahmed provided the minister with the resolutions adopted during the Towards a Democratic Middle East conference held in Beirut in June.
In addition to the meeting with the Lebanese Foreign Minister, Ahmed engaged with various political, cultural, and societal figures in Lebanon to garner support. His efforts aimed to bring attention to the urgency of resolving the Syrian refugee issue and other matters of mutual interest for both Syrian and Lebanese communities.
By engaging in diplomatic conversations and presenting concrete proposals, AANES is actively working towards finding viable solutions to the pressing challenges faced by Syrian refugees in Lebanon and the broader Syrian crisis.
