Executive Council of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria receives a Catalan delegation 

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA —  On Monday, the Co-Chairs of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) received Ruben Wagensberg and Laura Borràs, independent members of the Catalan Parliament from Barcelona.

The two sides discussed the political, economic, and service conditions in North and East Syria and the difficulties facing AANES institutional work amid the current economic conditions.

Executive Council Co-Chairs briefed the delegation on the water crisis in Hasakah, its causes and impact on the residents, as well as the conditions in the displacement and refugee camps in North and East Syria.

The visiting delegation affirmed its support for AANES and its projects in the health and relief sectors. They also welcomed the announcement that AANES will begin prosecuting elements of the Islamic State (ISIS) detained in North and East and Syria.
