Syrian Democratic Council women’s delegation visits Syriac Union Party in Zalin, Syria
ZALIN, Syria — On Monday, the Syriac Union Party (SUP) received a delegation of women from the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) at SUP headquarters in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria.
The delegation was headed by Co-Chair of the SDC and Women’s Office Amina Omar. They were received by the SUP Co-Chair Nazira Goreya and SUP members Sabah Shabo and Sherin Khoury.
The two sides discussed the overall political situation in general and in North and East Syria in particular.
The important role of women in the SDC and Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) was also touched on.
They also discussed efforts to produce a research paper on the inclusion of women’s rights within any new Syrian Constitution.
