Youth and Sports Authority North and East Syria youth showcase artistic talents in drawing competition

ZALIN, Syria — The Youth and Sports Authority of the Gozarto (Jazira) Region, as part of its commitment to nurturing the creative potential of young talents in North and East Syria, organized a free-drawing competition at the Youth Development Center in Zalin (Qamishli) on Wednesday.

The competition, aptly titled “With Art We Draw Our Victory”, witnessed enthusiastic participation from dozens of young artists representing the diverse ethnic tapestry of North and East Syria. Among those in attendance were representatives from political parties, youth organizations, and local residents.

Sobhi Malki, Co-Chair of the Progressive Syriac Youth, explained that the Authority’s decision to host this competition was driven by a dual purpose: to offer support and guidance to young individuals while shielding them from the perils of detrimental behaviors, such as drug use and criminal activity.

Malki highlighted the annual recurrence of this competition, underscoring its role in bolstering the morale of youth who ardently strive to safeguard their rich heritage and cultural legacy.

In recognition of their outstanding abilities, the top three winners received valuable gifts and prizes from the Authority. Additionally, every participant was honored with certificates of appreciation and gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the competition’s success.

Malki affirmed the Authority’s unwavering commitment to organizing such events, aimed at empowering youth to actively engage in the constructive development of North and East Syrian society.
