Administration of North and East Syria welcomes As-Suwayda protests, urges peaceful resolution

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In a statement to our news desk, Deputy Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) Rubel Bahho shed light on AANES’s stance regarding the ongoing protests in As-Suwayda against the Syrian regime.

Bahho asserted that the demands put forth by the demonstrators in As-Suwayda are entirely justified and emphasized AANES’s unwavering support for any constructive steps taken toward a peaceful solution. AANES recognizes and applauds the burgeoning civil movement taking shape in various cities across the country.

Bahho underscored the critical importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during these protests, advocating for their continuation free from any forms of conflict or armed violence. This, he believes, is essential to ensuring that As-Suwayda’s plea for change within Syria is heard and addressed.

Beyond these sentiments, Bahho stressed the significance of AANES-led initiatives in collaboration with all Syrian factions genuinely committed to finding a resolution. Their shared aim is to alleviate the enduring suffering of the Syrian people and to facilitate the realization of their aspirations for a life characterized by freedom and dignity.
