Syrian Democratic Council engages Syrian Syriac community in the Netherlands

THE NETHERLANDS — In an effort to promote unity and progress within Syria, the representatives of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) in Germany and the Netherlands began work with the Communication Committee for the Conference of Democratic Powers and Figures. Together, they hosted a meeting with the Syrian Syriac community in the Netherlands.

The gathering, a platform for dialogue and cooperation, commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Rizgar Qasim, the SDC’s representative in Germany and the Netherlands.

Hassan Muhamed Ali, a member of the Executive Committee and the head of the SDC Relations Bureau, reviewed the ongoing situation in North and East Syria. He shared updates on recent developments and offered a comprehensive understanding of the Council’s stance regarding prevailing political events.

Another key contributor to the meeting was Ali Rahmoon, a member of the SDC’s Relations Bureau. Rahmoon delved into the organization’s sustained efforts to organize the Conference of Democratic Powers and Figures. During his presentation, he outlined the Conference’s objectives and the structured frameworks designed to facilitate productive engagement.

The meeting attracted participation from diverse political figures representing various parties. Notably, delegates from the Unified Communist Party and the Democratic People’s Party were in attendance. These representatives underscored the paramount importance of fostering cooperation and coordination among Syria’s multifaceted components as a critical avenue toward achieving stability and progress within the nation.

Attendees actively engaged in conversations that examined the most recent political developments in North and East Syria, sharing insights and perspectives on the pathways available for joint national work aligning on the shared goal of advancing democracy and driving the desired transformative change in Syria.
