Syriac Orthodox Church celebrates Students’ Day in the Netherlands
ENSCHEDE, The Netherlands — The Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese of the Netherlands hosted a vibrant celebration in honor of Students’ Day at the Mor (St.) Ephrem Monastery in Enschede, the Netherlands. The event spanned three hours and featured an inspiring address by Metropolitan and Patriarchal Vicar Polycarpus Augin Aydin. In his speech, he encouraged students to persist in their educational journey, prioritize learning the Syriac language and strengthen their connection to their mother tongue.
This marked a significant milestone as the Mor Kuryakos Church, for the first time, organized a special celebration for students attending Syriac schools across the country. Hundreds of students enthusiastically gathered in the hall of Mor Ephrem Monastery to spend a memorable day together and partake in various engaging activities.
The celebration included spirited Syriac language competitions and other interactive events. Attendees were treated to a delightful array of food and beverages provided by the organizing committee.
