Syriac Women’s Union visits new office of Sutoro Women in Dayrik, North and East Syria
DAYRIK, Syria — In a show of support and solidarity, a delegation representing the Syriac Women’s Union (SWU) and in Dayrik (Al-Malikiyah / Derik) paid a visit to the newly inaugurated office of the Sutoro Women, the female wing of the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) in Dayrik. Leading the delegation was President of the SWU in Dayrik Georgette Abdel Nour.
The delegation was warmly received by the leadership of Sutoro Women, including Tiamat and Ayla, members of the group’s General Command.
During their visit, the delegation conveyed their heartfelt congratulations to the Sutoro Women on the auspicious occasion of the office’s opening. They expressed their deep gratitude and well-wishes for the unwavering dedication and contributions of the Sutoro Women to the security of North and East Syria and the region’s Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) communities.
The Sutoro Women urged all women in the region to take an active role in securing their communities and pursue the cause of a decentralized, pluralistic, and democratic Syria. They emphasized the importance of safeguarding the hard-won achievements of the revolution, achieved through the sacrifices of martyrs throughout years of conflict.
