Assyrian Church of the East inaugurates Bishop Mar Abars Youhana’s to Diocese of Nohadra and Nineveh
NOHADRA, Iraq — On Monday, the Assyrian Church of the East celebrated the inauguration of Bishop Mar Abarz Youhana as the Bishop of the Diocese of Nohadra and Nineveh. The ceremony, presided over by Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mar Awa III Royel, took place in the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary in Nohadra (Duhok), Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The celebration was attended by members of the Holy Synod, clergy, government officials, and members of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian faithful.
Patriarch Mar Awa III Royel, assisted by priests and deacons, conducted the enthroning rites, invoking blessings and symbols of leadership upon Bishop Mar Abars Youhana. Following the conclusion of the ceremony, the Patriarch extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed bishop and the parishioners of the Diocese of Nohadra and Nineveh and expressed his confidence in Bishop Mar Abars Youhana, expressing confidence in his ability to care for and serve the diocese.
During the ceremony, Bishop Mar Abars Youhana conveyed gratitude to the Patriarch and the diocesan community, pledging his commitment to wholeheartedly serve the Church and the diocese.
