Assyrian Society for Aid and Development opens Heritage House in Zalin, North and East Syria

ZALIN, Syria — On Saturday, the Assyrian Society for Aid and Development (ASAD) opened a heritage house featuring a diverse collection of traditional tools, some dating back over 130 years, showcasing the daily lives, household activities, and craftmanship of previous generations of Syriacs (Arameans–Assyrian–Chaldeans).

In response to an official invitation from ASAD, a delegation from the Syriac Cultural Society in Zalin participated in the grand opening of the heritage house.

The Syriac Cultural Society delegation, comprised of Head of the Syriac Cultural Society in Zalin Stephan Masoud and members Rubel Bahho and May al-Khoury, was warmly received by Andrew Shabo, the official representative of ASAD, alongside association members Bassam Youssef and Yaqoub Gharibo.

The opening ceremony, attended by numerous representatives from cultural and political institutions of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community, featured a ribbon cutting and tour of the property.

Following the tour, the Syriac Cultural Society delegation extended heartfelt congratulations to ASAD. As a token of goodwill on the occasion, they presented the ASAD with a book chronicling the history of our people.
