Syriac Progressive Youth Union concludes Bethnahrin Football League in Hasakah, North and East Syria

HASAKAH, Syria — The Syriac Progressive Youth Union in Syria concluded the Bethnahrin Football League, the 4th edition, in Hasakah, North and East Syria.

The League was held under the slogan “Respect, Morality, Love”, and it was attended by a large public presence and media officials.

The League was opened by standing a minute of silence for Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian martyrs of Baghdede and martyrs of struggle of Bethnahrain National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB).

The tournament between Khabur and Gilgamesh teams ended with Gilgamesh team winning the League.

In comments to our news desk, Co-Chair of the Syriac Progressive Youth Mariana Issa thanked all the attendees, supporting institutions and all those who contributed to the success of the League.

Gilgamesh team official Raymon Khushaba thanked the League organizers who encouraged youth talents through holding such sports activities.

Awards were distributed to the players, amid a crowd of Syriac people and all ethnic components of Hasakah.
