Conference marks expansion of Syriac Heritage Museum in Ankawa, Iraq, supported by international organizations
ANKAWA, Iraq — In Ankawa, Iraq, a conference was held to announce the commencement of the second phase of expansion for the Syriac Heritage Museum.
Attendees included prominent governmental and religious figures, alongside a significant gathering of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian public.
Museum Director Bernard Youssef Ashur highlighted the significance of this expansion, which is being facilitated by the American Antiquities Alliance and supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The initiative aims to safeguard the rich heritage and antiquities of Iraq’s minority communities.
Notable international organizations and representatives were also present during the conference, underscoring the collaborative effort to preserve the cultural legacy of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people.
