Six political parties of Syriac people met in Sweden to discuss joint work
STOCKHOLM — Six political parties of Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian), in Europe Branches held their second meeting in Sweden.
The meeting included heads of parties — Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO), Assyrian Democratic Movement (Zowaa), Beth Nahrin Democratic Party, Abnaa al-Nahrain, European Syriac Union and Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian Popular Council.
The parties announced their readiness to invite other political parties of Syriac people who spread in the homeland and abroad.
The parties’ heads discussed Syriac people situation in Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia). They also focused on discussing ways to unify their actions in the diaspora and support the joint efforts of the parties at the homeland, especially supporting the demands of the Athra Alliance, which includes 5 of Syriac people’s parties in Iraq.
They also touched on the Baghdede tragedy that claimed the lives of more than a hundred martyrs of Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people.
The importance of joint work between parties and institutions of Syriac people in the diaspora in general and in Sweden in particular were also among topics of discussion.
