Syriac people’s national parties hold a joint meeting in Wiesbaden, Germany
WIESBADEN, Germany — At the invitation of the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO), 8 political parties of Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people held a meeting in Wiesbaden, Germany on 14th November.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB), Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO), Assyrian Democratic Movement, Assyrian Universal Alliance, Assyrian Democratic Party, Beth Nahrin Democratic Party, Assyrian Liberation Party and the Soraya Democratic Party.
The parties discussed their common demands to reach strategic understandings regarding Syriac people at the homeland and diaspora. Ways to find appropriate solutions to the most prominent political problems, that Syriac people suffer from, were also touched on.
During the meeting, representatives of the parties spoke about their different visions. The MUB representative Yacoub Mirza stated that the MUB aims to establish activities and events in the areas of presence of Syriac people.
“The MUB has established the cadres’ system to give the utmost importance to the national struggle, “Mirza declared.
Mirza indicated that the MUB made its voice heard to all parts of the world, including areas of presence of Syriac people.
Mirza stated that the MUB called for the most important national demands of Syriac people, and stressed the necessity of communication and coordination between political parties of Syriac people to unify their demands, because the next stage will include signing new agreements.
Mirza called for consolidating relations between Syriac people’s parties, similar to the Document of Understanding in Syria and the Athra Alliance in Iraq.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties revealed their preparations to deliver a joint statement that contain the most prominent demands and understandings, in addition to continuing such meetings.
