General Commander of Syrian Democratic Forces Mazloum Abdi meets with visiting French delegation to discuss regional situation
NORTH AND WAST SYRIA — General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi recently hosted a prominent French delegation at the Headquarters of the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces. During this meeting, both parties engaged in extensive discussions concerning the ongoing regional situation.
As part of their continuous dialogue to address the evolving situation, Abdi welcomed the French delegation which consisted of former French Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer, accomplished writer Patrice Francisci, and Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in France Dr. Khaled Issa.
The discussions spanned multiple dimensions of the current situation, particularly the ongoing Turkish attacks in the region and their specific impact on critical civilian infrastructure.
The visiting delegation underlined their readiness to extend support to the Syrian Democratic Forces in their fight against terrorism.
At the outset of the meeting, the French delegation conveyed a message from French President Emmanuel Macron, reaffirming France’s unwavering commitment to support the Syrian Democratic Forces and expressing a strong determination to cooperate in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
The two parties also discussed the recent incidents involving militant groups associated with the Syrian regime targeting Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor). They acknowledged the broader intentions and objectives behind these attacks, aimed at sowing discord and chaos across North and East Syria.
