Repatriation of hundreds of Iraqi families from Al-Hol Camp in North and East Syria

AL-HOL, Syria — Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji announced that 1,567 Iraqi families have returned to their home country from Al-Hol Camp in North and East Syria.

Speaking at the 7th Ambassadors’ Conference held in Baghdad, al-Araji shared that these Iraqi families have been successfully transferred from the Al-Hol camp in Syria to Jadaa Camp in Iraq, where they will undergo rehabilitation and reintegration programs.

This move aligns with Iraq’s commitment to bolster national security, ensuring the voluntary repatriation of its citizens to Jadaa Camp, fostering their inclusion in rehabilitation and integration efforts. The repatriation initiative aims to reunite families and reintegrate individuals back into their home country.

Despite continuous appeals from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) to urging the repatriation of foreign detainees in camps across North and East Syria to their countries of origin, there has been little reaction from the international community.
