Swiss tour of film Souls in Transit draws audience and dialogue in Chur

CHUR, Switzerland — Continuing its tour across Switzerland, director Aida Schläpfer al-Hassani presented her film Souls in Transit at the Apollo cinema in Chur on 10 November.

Souls in Transit is a documentary about the 1915 Sayfo Genocide that was committed by the Ottoman Empire during and after the First World War predominantly against the Christian peoples in its territories, including the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) and Armenian peoples.

The screening was attended by members of the clergy of Christians Churches, including priest of the Syriac Orthodox Parish Priest Khuroyo Kerim Asmar.

The evening commenced with opening remarks from Masoud Melki and Aida Schläpfer. Following the screening, attendees engaged in a lively dialogue session that delved into the film’s narrative, behind-the-scenes preparations, and its global screening program.

Fehmi Butros, from the Schlomo Relief and Development Organization provided food to the attendees.
