Syrian regime and Iranian militias clash over attacks from Golan Heights, heightening tensions

DARAMSUQ — Reports indicate growing tensions between Syrian regime forces and Iranian militias situated in the south of Syria, stemming from recent missile incidents targeting the Golan Heights and subsequent Israeli responses.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) corroborated the escalating disputes, underscoring that the firing of missiles on the Golan Heights has triggered significant disagreements between regime forces and Iranian militias deployed in the outskirts of Daramsuq (Damascus) and Quneitra.

Sources indicate that the militias, predominantly led by Hezbollah, have received directives from the Iranian regime to elevate their state of readiness, anticipating potential Israeli strikes against their positions. Notably, these orders diverge from the Syrian regime’s instructions, which prohibit the firing of any missiles or bullets toward the Golan.

According to SOHR, Iranian militias are strategically positioned in areas distant from the concentrations of Syrian regime forces in Quneitra, the southwestern countryside of Daramsuq, and Druco (Daraa).
